What our students say about the course

"During my work as a health and safety inspector over twenty years I had often used human factors principles to help understand incidents and problems, and to gain improvements, in a wide variety of industrial settings.  However, I was aware that the field had developed significantly over recent years and wished to improve my understanding and competence in the area by gaining a formal post-graduate qualification such as an MSc.

With a full-time job and a young family, full-time study was out of the question, but my employer supported me in completing the Nottingham MSc by distance learning over a period of four years (I'd recommend three if you can manage it).  Maintaining the discipline of putting in the study time was often hard, but the content, web-based format and support from friendly and helpful course supervisors was excellent.  I have applied the principles learned during the course "on-the-job" most weeks since, and I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone who wants to improve their competence in ergonomics and human factors but is unable to study full-time".
